For months Kiwi ( pictured at right) has had this gross clump of fur on her back. It started off as one small clump when the baby was born and slowly developed into 3. We took to calling her the Rastifarian cat and avoided petting her back there because her fur was also so dry. We brushed it to no avail and, finally, I said enough is enough. So off to the vet she and Clem went. They were due to have their rabies shots anyway. Keith took them last night and said that it only took the doctor one good stroke of a very good brush to remove the clumps along with the recommendation to give them cod liver oil and more wet food.
