His new fascination

Doors. Mostly small cabinet doors that he can open from a seated position, but he occasionally tries to open the refrigerator and freezer doors. Sometimes the warmer drawer of the oven. It's funny to watch him open and close this end table door a dozen times in a row. At first we had a child proof latch on it, so he was able to open it a little bit but not more than a few inches. That was hard for him to understand. Finally, Keith took the child safety latch off and Cole went to town on that door. What's also cute is that once he finally opens this door, he will swing it back and forth another dozen times, as if he is testing its integrity.

  1. Haha, Kale LOVES doors too! It's one of his main sources of entertainment lately. He's also a big fan of the warmer drawer on the stove, although he tries to use it to stand up and has come dangerously close to slamming his fingers in there. I try to keep his fascination limited to doors.

  2. Zach too. And drawers. Now that he's really really mobile, I keep checking the drawer stops on all of the drawers in the house.

  3. I love it when babies do that! I also find it cute when they empty it out. They create a mess but the curious look on their faces while taking each item out is priceless!

  4. Mommy A - we have to get those drawer stops. He will be tall enough to start pulling on those soon enough.

Kitten- I agree - it's amazing to watch them inspect the items.
